More than 40 schools close Thursday due to high temperatures

Dozens of area schools will be closed Thursday due to high temperatures.

Temperatures in Northeast Ohio are expected to reach near 90 degrees.

The following Cleveland Metro School District schools will be closed Thursday:

Benjamin Franklin
Charles Eliot
Charles Mooney
Collinwood
Facing History New Tech
Garrett Morgan
Iowa-Maple
Louis Agassiz
McKinley
Michael R White
New Tech West
Newton D. Baker
O H Perry
Patrick Henry
Sunbeam
Tremont
Valley View Boys Leadership Academy
Walton
Whitney Young
Wilbur Wright
William Cullen Bryant
Willow

Multiple school from other districts across Cuyahoga, Lorain and Stark counties are also closed for Thursday due to extreme heat, humidity and air conditioning problems.

Those schools include:

Constellation Schools: Westside School of Arts - Cuyahoga
Constellation Schools: Collinwood Village Academy - Cuyahoga
Constellation Schools: Old Brooklyn Community - Cuyahoga
Constellation Schools: Parma Community Pearl Road - Cuyahoga
Noble Academy Cleveland - Cuyahoga
Franklin Elementary - Massillon - Stark
Gorrell Elementary - Stark
Lorain Community Elementary - Lorai
Lorain Community Middle School - Lorain
Parma Community School - Cuyahoga
Whitter Elementary - Stark
