CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County communities are advising residents to be prepared for Wednesday's storms.
Much of the NewsChannel5 area is under an areal flood watch until Thursday evening, while a line of severe storms is expected late Wednesday night.
Westlake police said residents should only travel if necessary during the storms and watch out for downed power lines and trees. The police department also wanted to remind drivers to treat traffic signals that are out like a four-way stop.
The city of Cleveland said people should secure lawn furniture and take down any hanging plants that are outside.
In case of a power outage, the city said people should always use flashlights instead of candles, avoid opening the refrigerator and freezer, and unplug appliances that were turned on when the power went out.
