WIND ADVISORY in effect for Cuyahoga, Medina, Lorain, Erie, Huron, Richland, Ashland, Ottawa, Sandusky, & Seneca Counties through 4am Monday. Expect sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph through the evening hours.
Update: A line of heavy rain is moving into the Canton and North Canton area. A gusty wind is also likely.
Update: The line of stronger storms have faded a bit heading into Ohio. I still expect a few showers around as the front pulls through.
Update: Showers and even some thunder now heading NE into Lorain and Cuyahoga. Still watching the main line along the front. It's currently moving into western Ohio out of Indiana. This line will likely produce a brief heavy downpour, lightning, and gusty winds. This line should move through the area by midnight.
Update: Showers and storms are moving in from the SW near Mansfield and Findlay. The main line of storms is in central Indiana moving east.
Update: A cold front is moving through the area with showers and storms. We may have a lull in the action early this evening, but more rain should develop as the front pulls through. Temps will drop behind the front.
Update: Light to moderate rain will continue to push east through NE OH over the next couple hours. Another line of heavy rain and gusty winds is possible after sunset but will be more scattered and not as widespread.
3:35 pm Update: Despite the clouds, temperatures have warmed into the middle 70s across much of Ohio. It is a bit cooler west though where the rain is hovering. A line of light to moderate rain is slowly pushing east from Sandusky to Norwalk. this line will continue eastward through sunset. The strongest storms are starting to develop in IL/IN behind this line, expect these to roll through later this evening. In the meantime, winds have been strong. Frequent gusts of up to 40mph have already occurred with more likely this evening.
2:15 pm Update: Currently winds speeds are near 25 mph, with gusts above 35 mph. Skies are partly to mostly cloudy now. Closest rain showers are lined up from Toledo south to Findlay. Movement is northeast at 35 mph.
Midday Update: Temperatures are warming quickly with a gusty south wind. The wind advisory is in effect until 11pm for the western half of the viewing area. Expect gusts to reach into the 40-45mph range and temps in the middle 70s before the storms develop.
Storms will start to spark west of I-77 around 3pm and push east through the evening. A few storms could strengthen to severe levels with damaging hail and wind gusts to 60mph. Be sure to check be here frequently for updates throughout the afternoon,
Our next storm system is approaching quickly from the west. Before it arrives, expect a brisk southwest wind gusting to near 40mph this afternoon. Temperatures are also drastically warmer than the past week or so. With the help of a few peeks of sunshine, afternoon highs will be in the middle 70s. The warmth and increase in humidity will fuel the development of storms this afternoon and evening also.
Most of your afternoon will be dry but as the cold front slides closer, storms will move in. The Browns game will at least start dry, windy but dry. Between 3 and 5 pm we will start to see a few storms spark in our western counties. Expect scattered storms to continue to develop and push through NE Ohio through sunset and into the overnight hours.
The storms will push east by Monday morning but showers will linger through the first half of Monday. Might want to plan for some extra time on your commute back to work. Temperatures will level ovv in the upper 50s and lower 60s through much of next week with more unsettled weather returning to Ohio the second half of next week.
