Forecast: Rain returns tonight & Friday

CLEVELAND - 11:00 pm Update: Showers on radar are having a hard time reaching the ground across Northern Ohio. The atmosphere still has to moisten up to prevent the drops from evaporating mid-air. Legitimate showers from Toledo to near Mansfield will continue to move northeast. These light showers should reach all of us between 8 pm and midnight tonight. With a more widespread area of rain likely after midnight tonight. Evening temperatures will hover in the upper 30s. Temperatures should actually rise a few degrees after midnight and be in the lower 40s by dawn.

Friday looks wet and mild. High will move up into the lower and middle 50s area-wide. Rain showers are likely during the morning hours, becoming isolated by late afternoon.

Saturday will be warm! High temperatures should have no trouble reaching 60 degrees or slightly warmer. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a very small chance of a rain shower during the afternoon.

Heavier rains arrive on Sunday. I expect between one and two inches of rain Sunday and Sunday night. This could lead to flooding problems by Monday morning. Sunday's high temperatures will be near 50 degrees.

Colder air begins to arrive again on Monday I expect highs in the 30s with a few lingering rain showers for the morning hours. I can't rule out an isolated snow showers during the afternoon with the arrival of the cold air.
