CLEVELAND - 11:00 pm Update: A few sprinkles may make it across the lake thru the evening. Will keep a mention in through midnight. Skies will become mostly clear to partly cloudy by dawn. Temperatures will drop quickly into the upper 20s to middle 30s. Coldest readings will be along the US Route 30 corridor from Mansfield and Marion through Wooster and Canton. Areas closer to Lake Erie should escape the freeze.
Friday looks cool and dry as high pressure slides south into the area. Sunshine will be the rule with high cloudiness moving in by mid to late afternoon. A few cumulus clouds will linger through the day in the snow belt areas of Lake, Geauga, & Ashtabula Counties. High temperatures should struggle into the upper 40s and lower 50s.
After a frosty start to the day Saturday, clouds will quickly thicken up. Scattered rain showers will move east through the region during the day. The exact track of the low pressure in the Ohio Valley Saturday will dictate who gets most of the rain. Right now, the best chance for showers appears to be along and south of US Rt 224/I-76 corridors. It will also be cold enough for a few wet snow flakes to mix in. Highs will be chilly area-wide...in the 40 to 45 degree range!
Sunday should be cool and dry once again. Highs in the lower to middle 50s.
4:00 pm Update: Clouds are persisting across the area now. Once the sun begins to set, I would expect clouds to begin to thin. A few showers are sliding south thru the Detroit area now.
12:30 p.m. Update: Grab the rain gear this afternoon, I'm tracking scattered rain on the Power of 5 Doppler Network. Expect these brief periods of rain to continue through the afternoon. Temperatures are in the upper 50s but north winds will take over cooling us into the 30s by Friday morning.
9:30 a.m. Update: Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue through mid-afternoon. Although peeks of sun are possible, the sky will stay mostly cloudy. Passing showers are possible during the Indians game at 12:05 p.m.
Highs will hit the upper 50s today, 50 degrees Friday and a chilly 45 degrees Saturday. Don't worry, temperatures trend into the 70s early next week!
