CLEVELAND - 8:00 pm Update: Enjoy the dry weather tonight. Another storm system will bring snow to the north coast again on Friday. Clouds are thickening up tonight from west to east. Mostly cloudy should cover the sky condition all night. No snow tonight as high pressure slowly seeps off into Western Pennsylvania. Lows tonight will drop down to near 10 degrees. Wind chills could drop below zero for a few hours around dawn. Make sure you bundle up the kids for the bus stop!
An Alberta Clipper low pressure system will quickly drop southeast into the area on Friday. These storms move fast and are usually starved of moisture. That means, snow fall should be low. We'll go with between 1 & 3 inches from late morning through Saturday night as the storm moves by. Although, not a big storm system, roads will get slick for the afternoon and evening commutes. Drive with care! High temperatures will stay cold: 20 degrees.
12:30 pm Update: North winds continuing to dominate the forecast today. We've been breezy with an occasional gust to 25mph today keeping temperatures cold. Areas along the lake are near 20º with inland thermometers holding on the readings in the teens. We'll all top out this afternoon near 20º before sunset. Keep the heavy winter coats around but plan on a mainly snow flake-free afternoon.
10:00 am Update: Temperatures are in the upper teens right now, thanks to sunshine and flow across warmer Lake Erie. Snow is still falling in Summit, Medina, Portage and Trumbull Counties and could be briefly heavy at times. Expect snow to end before noon. Snow returns Friday morning after 9 a.m.
One last push of lake effect snow is moving through Northeast Ohio. In most areas, snow totals will range from 1-2". Isolated higher totals up to 5" are likely east of Cleveland.
Expect snow-covered roads for the morning commute and temperatures in the low teens. Wind chills are in the single digits.
High pressure building in from the west will help clear the sky this afternoon. Snow may linger until noon in some areas, but dry weather is expected everywhere for the evening commute. Highs will hover near 17 degrees.
Clouds return tonight, but snow is not in the forecast (for once!) Lows will drop to 11 degrees.
A quick-moving low pressure system arrives Friday with a widespread chance of light snow. 1-3" will accumulate across Northeast Ohio starting around noon and ending after the evening rush.
A few snow showers may linger east of Cleveland Saturday. Otherwise, look for partly sunny skies and highs in the mid-20s.
Highs will approach the upper 20s Sunday with a chance of snow late. As warmer air arrives Monday, snow showers will change to rain showers by early afternoon. Monday's highs will hit the upper 30s.
Rain is likely at times Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be much warmer, in the 40s.
