CLEVELAND - LAKE EFFECT SNOW WATCH is in effect for Lake, Geuaga, Cuyahoga, & Ashtabula Counties beginning 6 am Thursday morning through Friday night. Scattered lake effect snow showers will develop behind a strong cold front which will cross the area late Wednesday evening. Expect 6 to 12 inches of snow where snow squalls persist by Saturday morning. A WATCH means that heavy snow COULD form in the listed counties. A WARNING means that heavy snow is coming. Stay tuned!
10:00 pm Update: Showers should end before midnight leaving us with mainly cloudy skies and some fog for the rest of the night. Low temperatures will stay mild; in the lower and middle 50s.
A line of strong storms over Illinois tonight will weaken as it moves east into Ohio for the morning rush hours. Showers are storms are likely between about 6 & 10 am. Some of the heavier thundershowers could produce gusty winds above 40 mph. The weather should dry out for midday. The next round of thundershowers will arrive during the evening hours along the Arctic Cold Front. Before the front arrives, we should be able to bump temperatures up into the upper 50s and lower 60s again.
Cold air returns to the region with a vengeance Thursday night. Lows will drop into the lower 20s. Scattered snow showers are likely thru Friday.
An Alberta Clipper surface low pressure system will arrive in Ohio on Saturday. That will likely deposit 2-4 inches of snow across the area. Highs Friday will be near 20 degrees. Saturday's high will climb back up to 24 degrees. Brrr!
Spring-like showers are now popping up across the region. No thunder, but a brief downpour is likely within the shower. Most are south of the lakeshore.
Temps have risen into the upper 50s under mainly cloudy skies, with some showers forming SW near Mansfield. These showers will move east through the afternoon.
Update: No hats or gloves needed today! Temperatures will jump to the mid-50s by lunchtime and near 60 degrees for the high this afternoon with breezy conditions. Our best chance of rain comes during the morning commute Wednesday. You may even hear rumbles of thunder! ___________ Morning temperatures are near 50 degrees. Despite clouds and showers, high temperatures will soar to near 60 degrees today!
Drizzle is possible this morning, but the best chance of showers comes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The evening will be mainly dry. Low temperatures will drop to the 50s overnight.
As a strong cold front moves across the Midwest, expect a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms during the morning commute Wednesday. High temperatures will hit the upper 50s before falling Wednesday evening. Overnight lows will be in the 20s with scattered snow showers.
Lake effect snow showers take over Thursday and Friday with accumulations likely in the Snowbelt. Highs will struggle to reach 20 degrees Friday. That's nearly a 40 degree drop from Tuesday and Wednesday!
