Forecast: Light snow possible SE tonight and early Tuesday

CLEVELAND - 9:00 pm Update: Skies are mostly cloudy across the area now because of a weak weather system sliding south across Kentucky tonight. That system will spread some light snow across our region tonight and early Tuesday. Most of us will just see a few flakes. A few spots south along US Route 30 may pick up a half an inch by 10 am Tuesday. Low temperatures will bottom out in middle and upper 20s.

The light snow will linger through the Tuesday morning commute. Then, as drier air moves in, we should see at least a little sunshine during the afternoon hours. Highs will be chilly, in the middle and upper 30s.

A weak Alberta Clipper low pressure system will slide through the Northern Great Lakes on Wednesday. We could see a few light snow flurries east of Cleveland during the day. otherwise, I expect mainly cloudy skies area wide. Highs will climb into the upper 30s.

A slow warm-up begins on Thursday at temperatures climb through the 40s. Highs Saturday and Sunday will top out between 50 and 55 degrees. I expect a few rain showers Friday and again on Sunday.

Developing low pressure over Tennessee will move toward the Mid-Atlantic Tuesday. This system will stay far enough south that it doesn't affect our weather in Northeast Ohio.

I can't rule out an isolated snow shower tonight through early Tuesday, but I expect mainly dry weather. Overnight lows will drop to the upper 20s.

Some sunshine is possible Tuesday, but highs will be chilly. Temperatures will struggle to reach the mid-30s.
