Forecast: High pressure will bring sunshine Tuesday and a frosty start to Wednesday

CLEVELAND - 9:00 pm Update: Frost Advisory has been trimmed way back tonight. Now, only includes Ashtabula & Trumbull Counties. Clouds have been persistent this afternoon and will hang around through at least midnight. That should help keep temps in most spots a few degrees above the freezing the middle and upper 30s.

Skies should clear out by dawn in most spots. With mainly sunny skies on Wednesday, I would expect high temperatures in the lower and middle 60s.

Low pressure will slide across the Northern Great Lakes on Thursday. A cold front associated with the low will stall across Lake Erie to our North. Most of the rain will stay north of the cold front, but I will include the mention of an isolated rain shower Thursday afternoon in communities close to the lake. Highs from 70 to 75 for Thursday.

High clouds are spilling in keeping temps in the low 50s across the area, where the sun has poked through, expect upper 50s and low 60s.

Under mainly sunny skies, temps have risen into the low to mid 50s. I expect highs in the mid 50s through the day, with warmer readings to the south, where some spots could touch 60.

A Frost Advisory is in effect for tonight with lows falling into the 30s.

Update: Current temperatures are near 50 degrees. With a breeze from the north, lakeside communities will hover in the mid-50s this afternoon. Areas south of Akron will hit 60 degrees. Look for a mix of sun and high clouds.

Temperatures have cooled to the 40s this morning under mostly clear skies. You'll notice calmer winds as high pressure builds over the Great Lakes.

Sun will mix with high clouds this afternoon. With a northerly wind, areas near the lake will hit the mid-50s. In Akron and south, expect temperatures closer to 60 degrees. Highs will cool at least 20 degrees from yesterday.

Mostly clear skies prevail overnight with lows in the mid-to-upper 30s. A few spots could get close to freezing, especially away from the lake. A Frost Advisory is in effect for most of Northeast Ohio from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday.

As high pressure shifts east Wednesday, temperatures will warm to the 60s, thanks to a southerly wind.

A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms comes in the forecast Thursday and Friday as a cold front stalls north of Lake Erie.

Low pressure crosses the area early Saturday, dropping highs to the 50s this weekend through early next week.
