Forecast: Ending the weekend on a wet note with scattered light rain into our Monday morning

Evening Update: The rain is back. It will stay light and scattered until midnight so if you have outdoor plans late this evening, take the umbrellas with you. Despite the rain, temperatures are warming into the 50s. We'll start out Monday with temps in the middle 50s before the bottom falls out. Temps will drop quickly into the 40s after sunrise and drop into the 30s by sunset Monday evening!

Expect isolated rain showers throughout Monday with a gradual shift over to snow by Tuesday morning. The cold air rushing over a warm Lake Erie will spark a lake effect snow band or two into your Tuesday morning commute. Any accumulations will be secluded to the primary snow belt east of Cleveland.

4:07 pm Update: The steady moderate to heavy rain has moved north and over the lake. Periods of light rain will continue for the next few hours. Our next round of widespread steady rain will hold off until after sunset and closer to 10pm. This round will last into early Monday morning.

Update: Areas of light rain will continue through the evening and into the overnight hours. Keep the jackets close by, temperatures are holding in the middle 40's and will hover there until sunset. Expect rain and cool temps into early Monday.

Our next storm system is pushing through Ohio on our Sunday giving us several different types of weather over the next 36-48 hours. The first type of weather we'll see is from the warm front pushing north throughout midday Sunday. Expect temperatures to start the day in the lower 30s and quickly warm into the 40s to near 50 by the afternoon. Along with the warmer air, comes rain.

Don't leave home without your umbrella Sunday because we'll be tracking rain on the Power of 5 Doppler Radar Network. Plan on periods of light rain starting around noon Sunday and lasting through the evening and into Monday morning as the second type of weather pushes into Ohio.

The second type is cold air. The cold air will shut down the scattered rain and drop temps into the 30s throughout Monday afternoon. By sunset Monday we'll shift our focus from rain toward Lake Effect snow. Areas downwind of a warm Lake Erie can expect snow bands overnight Monday and into Tuesday before clearing out Tuesday afternoon. The snowbelts stand the best likelihood of getting accumulating snow Tuesday morning.
