CLEVELAND - 11:00 pm Update: Lots of rain moving north across the area now. It will seriously slow down overnight travel plans. Low pressure across Southern Indiana will move slowly north into no Northwestern Ohio by Wednesday morning. Scattered rain showers are likely ahead of the low tonight. As the atmosphere cools tonight, a few of the rain showers could mix with and change over to snow. Accumulations should stay below 1 inch. Low temperatures tonight will drop into the middle 30s.
Scattered rain and snow will continue on and off on Wednesday as low pressure slowly shifts east across Lake Erie and Northern Ohio. Snow totals should stay below 2 inches in most spots. With the earlier rain, much of the snow should melt when it hits the ground. HIghs will climb back to near 40 degrees.
As warmer air moves in, we should see a transition from any areas seeing a wintry mix TO rain. Highs will top out near 40.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for areas SW of Cleveland, along 71, north of Columbus through noon. Some freezing rain could mix in when the rain begins today.
We're starting off under mainly cloudy skies to begin the day with temps in the upper 20s. Expect clouds to be the main feature for the morning as many of us stay dry.
It's during the afternoon when the big storm heads our way. We'll see bands of rain arrive during the afternoon - the rain could be heavy at times. But, we should only see rain, with a chance of wintry mix to our west. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for west of Sandusky. Those spots could see a few inches of snow with some ice, too.
By the evening, colder air will change the rain over to wet snow mixing in. We may see an inch or 2 of snow overnight into Wednesday morning with colder temps.
The rest of the week will feature colder air with snow chances with highs only in the upper 20s for the upcoming weekend.
