Security has been tightened in Cleveland and across the country after federal authorities issued an alert involving stadiums and mass transit.

Cleveland police just released new information on the threats and how it is affecting the city.

There is no specific threat to Cleveland, its entertainment venues or its infrastructure; but in response to two security bulletins revealed by The Associated Press, local law enforcement is asking all residents – including those attending Tuesday night's Indians game – to stay alert.

RTA Police Chief John Joyce said on Monday, all RTA employees were given an e-mail advisory to heighten security awareness.

The RTA and Cleveland police are responding to security bulletins issued by Washington counter-terrorism officials. The report said investigators are being asked to keep watch on sports venues, hotels or suspicious people carrying backpacks onto buses or trains.

Cleveland police are asking fans going to the Indians game or any other venue to report suspicious activity. You can contact police or the FBI.

The RTA also has a 24-hour hot line you can call. The number is 216-566-5163.
