A woman is found dead and a man is in critical condition after a shooting at home in Coventry Township Tuesday morning.

Deputies said they found Tracy Schley, 41, in her Lakota Avenue home.

Keith Thornton with the Summit County Sheriff's Department said a 911 call came in at 4:21 a.m. from Schley saying her house was being broken into.

Deputies arrived and found Schley dead from a gunshot wound to the head and stomach and Edwin Gene Posey, 53, had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. He is in critical condition at Akron General Hospital. They believe Posey shot Schley and then turned the gun on himself.

Schley's 8-year-old son was also in the house. He was taken to Akron Children's Hospital to be checked out and is now in the custody of his grandparents.

Deputies said Schley and Posey were in a relationship, but it was not known if it was current and how long they had been dating.

Thornton said Posey has a criminal record including cocaine trafficking, possession of a firearm, burglary.
