The Avondale mother accused of leaving her children at home while she went to work pleaded guilty on Monday.

According to NewsChannel5's sister station, www.wcpo.com, Beverly Fears pleaded guilty to three counts of child endangering and one count of kidnapping.

Police said Fears left her 5-year-old son and 20-month-old child, strapped in a portable crib, locked in a closet last year.

Neighbors alerted authorities after hearing sounds coming from the apartment. Police had to break down the door where they discovered the children in the closet.

Police found the 5-year-old surrounded by his own waste.

Fears will be sentenced on July 1.
