Troubleshooter Rounds Up Refund For Uncompleted Work

"I've had everything in boxes for five months, how can I live with this?" Barbara Wilson is talking about her torn up kitchen. A kitchen left practically useless by Conerstone Kitchens of Berea.

"I have nowhere to cook, I have no dishwasher, no refrigerator, the flooring is waiting to be installed he had no intentions of finishing it," said Wilson.

He, according to Wilson, is Conerstone Kitchens President Mike Nagle. I caught up with Nagle in Bera Court. He was appearing on charges of not registering with the City of Middleburg Heights before starting Wilson's failed kitchen project. I simply asked him why? He told me there confusion about the project, materials to be used and he and Wilson had come to a stalemate.

But Nagle's failure to register is not the only problem, you see Wilson paid Nagle more than ten thousand dollars up front, and after repeated phone calls, he left her waiting. Her kitchen an unfinished mess.

"I have to go down the basement to get my refrigerator. My microwave is in the dinning room," Wilson told me.

I went to the Cornerstone Kitchens Rocky River Drive show room searching for answers. I know he did the job without a permit, he has a number of complaints and lawsuits filed against him. Mike Nagle responded immediately to my visit and two weeks later I was on the scene to get the good news.

"I've got my check and I'm satisfied thanks to NewsChannel 5 and thank you Joe!" Wilson said.

Wilson was issued a three thousand dollar refund for the uncompleted work. She'll use the money to finally transform her practically unusable kitchen.

Wilson says to make sure before hiring a contractor, check the company out with the BBB and the Attorney General's Office.
