MANSFIELD, Ohio - State troopers are asking for the public's help tracking down a driver that struck a car and then bolted in Mansfield Friday night.
The two-vehicle crash happened on North Stewart Road at State Route 430 at 6:57 p.m., according to the Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
They said Alfretta Yetzer, 50, of Mansfield was stopped at a red light at the intersection of North Stewart and SR 430 when a red pickup truck failed to stop, striking the back of her 2009 Toyota RAV4.
Both Alfretta and her passenger Emmaly Yetzer, also 50 and of Mansfield, were injured as a result of the crash.
After the collision, troopers said the red pickup truck's driver backed up and fled the crash scene, traveling eastbound on SR 430 after running a red light.
Troopers described the suspect's vehicle as a smaller red pickup, possibly a Chevy S-10 or Ford Ranger, which should have considerable damage across the front including to one, or both, headlights.
If you have any information about the suspect or vehicle, you are asked to contact the highway patrol. Callers may remain anonymous.
