RTA replacing additional flat tires, potholes around city are to blame

CLEVELAND - The potholes in and around the city of Cleveland are causing drivers slowing down to minimize the damage done to vehicles.

RTA says up to 50 bus tires are replaced daily as part of normal maintenance.

But since January, the company is replacing 4 to 6 additional tires on buses and reports the potholes are to blame.

The transportation company has a contract with Bridgestone to take care of the tire replacements.

The average cost to replace on tire is around $350.

RTA operates more than 400 buses.
