COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio's transportation department doesn't know yet what areas on rural interstates will increase from 65 mph to 70 mph.
The new speed limit can take affect after the beginning of July. Gov. John Kasich signed the speed-limit increase into law last week.
A spokesman for the Ohio Department of Transportation says it has three months to figure out where the speed limits will go up and how many new signs will be needed.
Spokesman Steve Faulkner tells The Columbus Dispatch that the department will change speed-limit signs across the state within two days after the increase becomes law.
