CLEVELAND - A ramp used by over 1,000 commuters daily will close on Monday, and is expected to cause traffic troubles and extra delays.
By 6 a.m. Monday, the E 9th St ramp to 90WB/71SB will closed in addition to the already shut down Ontario Street ramp to 90 WB. Both ramps will be closed for 60 days.
In order to ease traffic, at 6am Monday morning ODOT will also reopen the long closed E 21st ramp to 77SB. There will also be a lane added to the E 14th Ramp.
The Ontario Street ramp is expected to reopen on Nov. 16. Access to 71 SB from Ontario Street will be restored when the new Innerbelt Brige is open, in late November/early December.
Drivers will need to take an alternate route to 90WB/71SB during the closure. ODOT recommends:
- Take the I-77 south ramps at Ontario/Orange, E 9th or E 21st, then enter I-490 west for access to I-90 west or I-71 south.
- Take the Lorain-Carnegie Bridge and enter I-90 west from W 25th St. Continue south on W 25th St. for access to I-71 south.
- Enter I-490 west at Broadway Avenue for access to I-90 west or I-71 south.
- Enter I-90 west at E 14th Street with access to I-71 south.
