VALLEY VIEW, Ohio - A crash closed lanes on Interstate 480 westbound on the Valley View Bridge on Tuesday, ODOT said.
A driver was injured when a highway sign fell onto his truck, according to Valley View fire officials.
"This is very rare. Our signs are regularly inspected," ODOT spokeswoman Amanda Lee said. "The high winds that came through around 4 p.m. were said to be upwards of 60 mph, so high winds were definitely the cause of these signs coming down."
"If you have ever crossed the VV Bridge on an average, windy day, you can sometimes feel the wind movie your car around."
The Valley View Fire Department said driver was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. His injuries are not known at this time.
