Construction season starting in Summit, Stark, Trumbull, Mahoning, Portage and Ashtabula counties

AKRON, Ohio - ODOT District 4 kicked off the 2013 construction season with a $7.9 million widening project along State Route 93, Manchester Road. This is just one of the major projects happening over the next few months. In an effort to ease some of the construction frustration, ODOT worked with nearby businesses offering them informational brochures about the project and the best ways to get around.

Here are some of the major projects that may affect your commute over the next couple of months:

Summit County:

State Route 93/Manchester Rd in Coventry Township

A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. Robinson Ave. will have various closures at SR 93. Various short term side street closures will also occur. All detours will be
posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times throughout construction.

State Rd. from Bath Rd. to Steels Corners Rd.

A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on State Rd. except for brief periods where one lane of traffic will be maintained by flaggers.

I-76 at the Central Interchange and on I-77 from the Kenmore Leg (I-76) to Copley Rd

A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction during non-peak traffic hours. Various weekend ramp closures will occur. All detours will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times throughout construction.

Trumbull County

State Route 5 - Replacement of Bridge of Mahoning River between the eastern Newton Falls corporation limit and the Ohio Turnpike.

SR 5 will be closed for 21 days. A detour will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times throughout construction.

46/169 The replacement of the bridge on SR 46/169 over Mosquito Creek between Vienna Ave. and N. Main St.

SR 46/SR 169 will be closed for 180 days. A detour will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained throughout construction.

Stark County

SR 172 from Eden Ave. N.W. to Woodlawn Ave. N.W.

A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on SR 172 throughout construction.

State Route 800 just north of the Village of East Sparta.
In May, SR 800 will be closed for 45 days. A detour will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times throughout construction.

SR 21 from the Tuscarawas County line to US 62.

SR 21 will be closed for 240 days. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be maintained during all other times. A detour will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times
throughout construction.

Portage County

SR 5 at New Milford Rd Intersection

In May, SR 5 will be maintained with flaggers during construction. New Milford Rd. will be closed for the duration of the project. A detour will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times throughout construction.

Mahoning County

intersection of US 422 and SR 616 over Dry Run Creek.

US 422 and SR 616 will each be closed for a 90-day period. These closures will not occur at the same time. All detours will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained throughout construction.

Ashtabula County

West Ave.over West 30th St. and West Ave. over the Conrail Railroad.

One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on West Ave. at all times. W. 30th St. will be closed for 30 days. A detour will be posted. Access to all residences and businesses will be maintained at all times throughout construction.
