ASHLAND, Ohio - Troopers from the Ashland Post of the Highway Patrol are investigating a crash on Interstate 71 in Montgomery Township that shut down two lanes of the roadway for nearly eight hours Wednesday.
At around 5:54 a.m., a semi-truck driven by James Caple of Alabama hit a Chevrolet Silverado that was parked in a construction zone, troopers said.
After Caple hit the truck, which was occupied by James Helmke of Defiance, the semi-truck hit a median cable and burst into flames.
It is reported that the semi-truck was carrying plastic pellets from Indiana to Connecticut.
All people involved in the crash were treated at the scene for minor injuries and the crash is still under investigation.
