More Americans plan to travel at least 50 miles to celebrate the upcoming Labor Day weekend.
AAA predicts 34-million Americans will take trips this year. That is an increase of more than four percent over last year and the highest level since 2008.
Labor Day falls on Sept. 2 this year and according to AAA, people have shown a higher inclination to travel when the holiday falls earlier in the month.
AAA also credits the increase in travel to an improving economy, more people willing to spend money and a recovering housing market.
