Patrol: Girl, 15, Killed In DUI Crash

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a woman who was driving drunk caused a crash in Stark County Wednesday night that resulted in the death of a 15-year-old girl and the injury of two others.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred just after 10 p.m. on U.S. Route 30 in Osnaburg Township.

Troopers said a Beretta driven by 35-year-old Christina L. Faulkner was traveling westbound when it struck an Escort in the rear. The Escort went off the road, struck a tree and overturned. The Beretta went off the other side of the road into a ditch.

One of the Escort's passengers, 15-year-old Angela D. Baker, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, 18-year-old Joey Lyon, was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

Cynthia L. Miner, the 57-year-old driver of the Escort, is in serious condition.

Troopers said Faulkner tried to walk away from the scene but was stopped by emergency workers and taken to a hospital, where she was treated and released and then taken to Stark County Jail.

She was booked on charged of OVI, leaving the scene of an accident, aggravated vehicular assault and aggravated vehicular assault.

Troopers said Faulkner was under the influence of alcohol and was driving under suspension at the time of the crash.
