WALTON HILLS, Ohio -- An 88-year-old woman died in a morning house fire Thursday in Walton Hills.

The fire broke out around 7 a.m. at a home on Walton Road. The Bedford and Maple Heights fire departments both assisted in the fire.

The fire victim was found on the floor of the home. She was taken to Bedford Hospital, where she died.

She has yet to be identified.

The fire remains under investigation. After a preliminary investigation, fire officials said there was no reason to believe that the fire was of a criminal nature.
