WESTLAKE, Ohio -- A body was discovered inside a Westlake home after firefighters battled a blaze there Thursday afternoon.

A neighbor reported seeming flames on the first floor and windows breaking at the home on Sperrys Forge Trail.

Westlake, Bay Village, Avon, Rocky River and North Olmsted fire departments all helped battle the fire.

Neighbors said victim Marsha Blessing, who was wheelchair-bound from multiple sclerosis, was trapped in the home. Her husband, who rarely leaves her alone, had gone to the store when the fire broke out.

Westlake police and fire departments are investigating, along with the Cuyahoga County coroner and the state fire marshal.
