CLEVELAND -- A 17-year-old Cleveland teen died after the driver of a stolen van struck him.

Police said Justin Simmons was standing in the front lawn of a home at East 86th Street and Folsom Avenue Wednesday night, when a 15-year old driving a stolen Dodge Caravan lost control and hit him, pinning him underneath.

Simmons was taken to University Hospitals, where he was pronounced dead at about 6:30 p.m.

Police arrested the driver after he tried to flee, officers said. He was taken to juvenile detention and could be charged Thursday.
