Acasuso, Granollers Secure QF Berths In Amersfoort

POSTED: 2:40 pm EDT July 17, 2008

(Sports Network) - Second-seeded Argentine Jose Acasuso and fourth-seeded Spaniard Marcel Granollers were among Thursday's second-round winners at the clay-court Dutch Open.

Acasuso handled France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-3, 6-4, while Granollers grounded fellow Spaniard Ivan Navarro 6-4, 6-4.

In other second-round play, fifth-seeded Spaniard Albert Montanes topped Uruguay's Pablo Cuevas 6-4, 6-4 and unseeded Spaniard Oscar Hernandez humbled Dutch wild card Jesse Huta Galung 6-3, 6-2 at Sportlokaal de Bokkeduinen, where rain interrupted action on Day 4.

Friday's quarterfinals will pit top-seeded Frenchman Marc Gicquel against Russian Teimuraz Gabashvili, Acasuso versus Montanes, third-seeded and defending champion Steve Darcis against fellow Belgian Christophe Rochus and Granollers versus his countryman Hernandez. Darcis defeated Austrian Werner Eschauer in last year's finale here to capture his first-ever ATP title.

The 2008 Dutch Open winner will take home $86,000.
