Deadliest Crimes In Northeast Ohio

Six bodies found in a home on Cleveland’s east side has many people remembering other crimes in northeast Ohio.

Davon Crawford is accused of killing his wife, her sister and three children in a home on West 89th Street before turning the gun on himself in early March 2009.

Antun Lewis, 24, was charged in the worst mass murder in Cleveland's history, nine people killed in a house fire on East 87th Street in May 2005. His trial is schedule to start in December.

In 1987, four women in the Akron area were killed in a four-month time period under similar circumstances, causing widespread panic and an increase of gun sales in the area. No suspects were ever identified.

Jeffrey Lundgren was put to death in 2006. Lundgren and his followers killed five members of the Avery family and buried them in a pit under a Kirtland barn on April 17, 1989.

Jeffrey Dahmer, who grew up in Bath and attended Revere High School in Summit County, murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. His murders involved rape, torture, dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism. He was arrested at his apartment in Milwaukee.

The Cleveland Torso Murderer also known as the Mad Butcher of Kingsbury Run was an unidentified serial killer who had at least 12 victims between 1935 and 1938. He was known for cutting his victims in half. Despite the efforts by law enforcement icon Elliott Ness, the slayings were never solved.
