The Ohio Supreme Court is threatening to find in contempt of court the attorney whose emails triggered an NCAA investigation that cost the football coach his job at Ohio State University.
AKRON, Ohio - Is former Ohio State University football coach Jim Tressel heading to The University of Akron?
WEWS has learned that Tressel could find himself working at the school without being a part of the athletic department. We have been told Tressel could be taking an "administrative role," soon, perhaps as a vice president.
"When Jim Tressel and other alumni assisted us in our search for a football coach last December, we began to engage in dynamic conversations about Jim's professional goals outside of athletics," UA spokeswoman Eileen Korey said, in a prepared statement. "We share a common interest in innovative programs for student success. Our discussions continue."
Tressel, according to media reports in Columbus, sold his Upper Arlington home recently. One day after that news, sources told 10TV News on Wednesday that Tressel is in talks with The University of Akron about an administrative position.
Tressel spent last year as a replay consultant for the Indianapolis Colts.
Tressel began his coaching career at Akron as a graduate assistant in 1975, after graduating from Baldwin-Wallce in Berea.
