Professional golfer Hunter Mahan who withdrew from the Canadian Open last week after a two shot lead after two rounds on Saturday will miss the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron. Mahan left the event to be with his wife Kandi for the birth of his daughter.
Kandi gave birth to the couples daughter Zoe, a month earlier than expected.

"I have elected to officially withdraw myself from the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational so that I can take the opportunity to spend this precious first week at home with Zoe. I intend to resume my playing schedule at the 2013 PGA Championship at Oak Hill. I would like to thank the PGA TOUR for supporting my decision not to play this week."
