CLEVELAND - Former Buckeye basketball star Greg Oden is looking into a return to the NBA and has drawn some serious interest from several teams.
CBS Sports writer Jeff Goodman reported on Tuesday that the oft-injured star is likely to decide between the Cavaliers and the Miami Heat. Goodman reported that Oden is hoping to meet with Miami President Pat Riley over the next week.
The Heat would most likely offer Oden the Veterans minimum contract, but the Cavs could make a much more enticing offer with a contract close to $4 million a year.
Oden was the number one overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft.
The former Buckeye has played in a total of 82 games because of multiple knee surgeries. Oden is currently working out in Ohio and Indiana, and expects to be ready for the season opener next fall.
