Ohio Heritage Days: Malabar Farm State Park
Saturday & Sunday, September 24 & 25, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Malabar Farm State Park
Crafts, primitives, antiques, antique tractors, horses, food, live music, Civil War and living history camp, archaeological displays on Sunday. Try the barn dance Saturday night 7 to 10 p.m. Continuing a Bromfield tradition, square and line dancing with live music and caller. Beginners welcome. Food is available. $1 donation at door. For ages 12 & older.

Fall Introduction to Backpacking

Hale Farm & Village
Saturdays and Sundays in September and October, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
This outdoor living history museum features life and crafts from the mid-1800s. Enjoy farm animals, pastures, gardens, and historic houses with interpreters in period costume. Pawpaws in the Park
Saturday, September 24, noon to 4 p.m., North Chagrin Reservation, Squire’s Castle parking lot,
Discover the phenomenal natural and cultural history of this forgotten fruit.
Taste a pawpaw (while supplies last) and learn fun pawpaw recipes. There will be fun crafts, walks to a real pawpaw patch (12:30-1:15 & 2:30 – 3:15) and talks (1:30-2 p.m. and 3:30 – 4 p.m.) to learn how they have helped shape our American history. Free

Crawford County Parks

Friends of the Crawford Park District
The Friends of the Crawford Park District Inc. was formed in 1997 to provide membership in an organization which supports, encourages, and participates in the educational and scientific pursuits of the Crawford Park District and for raising financial support for the Crawford Park District.  The Friends group has helped the Park District build a Nature Center, preserve over 300 acres of parks, and support community nature education programs.  Many of the programs assist children learn about nature and become environmentally responsible citizens. Community groups we are proud to serve include scouts, day care, nursing homes, assisted living, public and private schools, 4-H, church groups, latchkey, DD and adult service organizations.

Fall Harvest Weekends
Antique Tractor Show Weekend: September 24 & 25
Apple Butter Weekend: October 1 & 2
Corn & Pumpkin Weekends: October 8, 9, 15 & 16
9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Lake Metroparks Farmpark
Four weekends of fall harvest fun! Each weekend features an aspect of farming and harvest, and visitors enjoy family-friendly hands-on activities that are part of Farmpark’s harvest traditions. On all weekends, little farmers can pedal their way on mini tractors through a farm maze, navigate the hay maze and play in the kid’s areas. The whole family can explore the three-acre corn maze. On some weekends, visitors can help grind apples and press cider as well as taste apple cider, apple butter and harvest soup! Regular Farmpark admission applies.

The North Central Ohio K 9 Search & Rescue Team will be demonstrating how its specially trained dogs are used to track and find missing persons in a variety of environments, both urban and rural. This presentation will be interactive, with members using their K 9 pals and the audience. Please do not bring your own pets to this presentation. All ages welcome. No registration required. Free.
