Ohio State Parks

Venison Chili Cook Off : Findley
Saturday, October 29, 1 to 3 p.m., Findley State Park
Join us at the campground pavilion for this contest. Participants must pre-register for park provided venison. Chili will be judged for prizes and enjoyed by other contestants and on-lookers. Please call the park office at (440) 647-5749 ext#100 or 102 for more information.
Trick-or-treat as an additional activity.

Cleveland Metroparks

Extreme Hiking
Saturday, October 29, 12:30 p.m. Brecksville Reservation, Jaite Wayside ,Vaughn Road parking lot.
Join Naturalist Pam Taylor on her favorite section of the Buckeye Trail. Prepare for hills and wet feet on this hike. We will be carpooling. Free.

Ashland County Parks

The Ashland County Park District (ACPD) is currently composed of 16 parks—each has natural features that make it distinct—including old-growth forest, native grassland, restored wetlands and spring-fed ponds. There are also miles of hiking trails, playgrounds, fishing ponds, bird-observation decks, river access for canoeing, and even a vintage cider press stored in a historic barn, all of which make these parks truly part of Ashland County.

Metropark Clean Up
Saturday October 29, 10 to 11 a.m., Need some volunteer hours? Or do you just like to help the environment? We will go on a hike and pick up trash along the way. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Pelton Park, 800 Pelton Park Dr, Sandusky.

Extended Hike

Starry, Starry Nights at Letha House  
Saturday, October 29, 8 to 10 p.m., Letha House Park West
Come see deep sky objects, planets, and the moon up close using the Cuyahoga Astronomical Association's telescopes. The observatory will be open for public viewing, and members will be available to answer your questions. Activities and/or displays will be set up inside the barn for further interest on cloudy nights. Cancellations will only be made in the case of severe thunderstorms. All ages welcome. No registration required. Free.

High Mileage Hike

Quail Holloween Night Hike

In the spirit of Halloween, come take a guided lantern hike at Quail Hollow Park. Learn about the history of the area and we'll even get to explore the historic Brumbaugh Cemetery! Lanterns will be provided.

Twilight Hike and Campfire
