New York Mets Daniel Murphy takes off first days of season for paternity leave

NEW YORK, New York - According to Yahoo! Sports , New York Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy is missing the first three games of his team's season to take paternity leave. 

Yahoo says Murphy's wife went into labor on opening day. 

In response, New York radio personality Mike Francesa talked about Murphy on his show for about 20 minutes. He was surprised that MLB players were allowed to take paternity leave, although it's a common practice.
