SOLON, Ohio - Solon High senior Jelvon Butler is one of the top sprinters on the track team for the Comets. She has been a state qualifier throughout her high school career.
She also helped the track team win three indoor state championships in a row and the 2013 outdoor state championship.
"She's a excellent role model for everybody on the team. She's great in the classroom but she's even better out on the track. She's a hard worker, she does everything I ask, she goes above and beyond. She's really somebody that every coach would love to have on their team," said girls head track coach Brian Sabol.
Jelvon is also a member of the marching band and National Honor Society maintaining a 4.2 grade point average. Her hard work in and out of the classroom and on the track is really no big deal to her.
"When you love what you are doing, I love running track and I enjoy getting good grades in school, it's not that hard of work when you enjoy what you are doing," said Jelvon.
Next year Jelvon will continue her hard work in the classroom and on the track for the Bruins of UCLA.
