CRESTLINE, Ohio - All-star softball pitcher Natalie Sayre of Crestline High School is the McDonald's student athlete of the week.
This senior class president has been the starting pitcher since her sophomore year. She was selected All -Conference, and All-North West District and All-Ohio Honorable Mention.
Even after a knee surgery from a volleyball injury, she came back in time for her junior season to be named the county pitcher of the year. In her junior season, she also got 250 strike outs, which is a school record.
"She's loves the sport. She's loves to be in the circle. She's loves being in control. She's loves having the ball in her hand. She just worked and in three months, she's back in the circle," said head coach Ron Shumate.
Natalie has a reason to be successful at Crestline High School.
"I want to leave a mark at Crestline. I want people to know who I am, I want to have good leadership skills and I don't want anybody to remember anything bad," Natalie said.
