AP history class at Hathaway Brown School is where I found student athlete of the week junior Lauren Gillinov.
Lauren is a honor student with a 4.2 GPA, but her academics are not the only thing she excels. Lauren is one of the top tennis players for the Blazers and in the state she is the 2014 division II state tennis champion.
Lauren is always trying to improve her game.
"She wants to improve she works on the things in matches even when she is the better player she is still putting in the effort to work on parts of her game she needs to work on," said head tennis coach Greg Aten.
"I'm a perfectionist. I don't like leaving things that are wrong that could be better so I try to make things as good as it can be," said Lauren.
