CLEVELAND - Maurice O'Field is a senior at John Hay High School and with the help of fans all over northeast Ohio, he could find himself on national television in April.
Maurice was one of 16 high school basketball players nominated to compete in the annual American Family Insurance National High School Slam Dunk Championship. Nominees had their video placed on the sponsor's Facebook page, and fans are asked to log on and vote for their favorite dunkers.
Each week for six weeks contestants will compete in a bracket-style knockout competition. Half the field will advance after each round. The fans are fully responsible for determining the winners.

Winners of the Facebook competition will be announced Wednesday, March 20 and travel to Atlanta on April 4 to 5 to compete. The championships will be aired on CBS on April 6.
In the first round, Maurice is facing a player from Albuquerque. The first round voting ends on February 20.
