COLUMBUS - Jeff Thomas scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half and Ben Haraway also scored 20 points as Norwalk defeated Dayton Thurgood Marshall 72-64 Thursday in a Division II boys state semifinal at Ohio State's Value City Arena.
The Truckers (28-1), ranked second in the final Associated Press regular-season poll, advanced to play for their first state championship in Saturday's title game.
Thomas, a first-team all-stater, scored 12 points in the third quarter as Norwalk broke a 30-30 halftime tie to take a 52-47 lead into the final quarter. He then hit a three-pointer with 3:33 left in the game to give Norwalk a 59-57 advantage it never lost.
Rachaun Martin, a second-team All-Ohio selection, led Thurgood Marshall (23-6) with 15 points.
