BEREA, Ohio - The biggest question of Browns training camp was answered on Tuesday by head coach Rob Chudzinski: Will Trent Richardson play on Thursday night? The answer is yes.
Chudzinski said after practice his star running back "will play in a couple of series and we will see how it goes from there."
Richardson's work load has slowly increased over the past few days, a sign even to him that things were going in the right direction towards playing on Thursday against the Lions.
"I can't wait to get up out there. I had a feeling he was going to have me go because I was out there with the ones. It felt good when I was out there and I'm glad coach is going to let me go."
Brandon Weeden was excited to have his entire first unit together for this game against the Lions and Richardson was the final piece.
"It will be nice to have him back. They just made a point that he didn't play the entire preseason last year. He's healthy, he feels good and I'm excited to have him back," Weeden said.
Richardson has been all about the team when he has been asked about his playing time, but admitted that getting some reps before the season starts will be a big key.
"It's really important for timing, conditioning to see where I am at and see what I need to work on. There's a lot that goes into preseason games."
