REPORTS: Josh Gordon suspended for 1 year; will miss next year's training camp too

BEREA, Ohio - ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Josh Gordon will be suspended for the year and miss all of next year's training camp too.

A report on says the league will consider his reinstatement after the 2014 season.

News first broke during the 2014 draft in May that the league-leading wide receiver had violated the NFL's substance abuse rules again and could be suspended for the season.

But early in August, Gordon appealed, reportedly on evidence that one test sample, taken at the same time as the sample chosen by the NFL, was below the threshold.

The Browns and their fans have waited nearly a month for an answer from the NFL.

Gordon sat out the first two games of the 2013 season for a previous violation. The league hasn't issued any punishment for the wideout's July arrest in North Carolina on DWI charges.

In 2012, NewsChannel5's Andy Baskin wrote: "Some think (Gordon) could have been a first round pick and he could be the best supplemental steal since Bernie Kosar for the Browns. This is if his troubles are behind him."
