CLEVELAND - Over the last month, the Browns front office has given fans and pundits alike reason to question what once seemed like a sure thing.
The team with a quarterback carousel would have to take one with the #4 pick in the NFL Draft, right? And not just any QB but Johnny Manziel, if expert mock drafts are to be trusted.
Between skipping pro days for the top QBs and talk about entertaining other options, like wide receiver Sammy Watkins, GM Ray Farmer and his staff have injected a lot of mystery heading into the May 8 draft.
But the early buzz is looking more reliable Wednesday morning after a report by 92.3 The Fan's Daryl Ruiter that Johnny Football is in town to meet with Browns officials.
Don't read too much into any of that though. As Ruiter notes, the Browns have also worked out and/or hosted Derek Carr, Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, A.J. McCarron, Jimmy Garoppolo, Tom Savage, Keith Wenning, Brock Jensen and Aaron Murray.
There's no telling who will be under center when the Browns take the field in 2014. The NFL releases the 2014 schedule late Wednesday.
In the meantime, as you wait to see what actually happens, enjoy this video, which imagines what it might be like to see "Johnny Football" in a Browns uniform. It's a clever parody of Bad Company's "Shooting Star" that you need to watch to the end. (Click here if you don't see it below. )
