MIAMI - Troubled wide receiver Davone Bess' recent problems are not news to the Miami Dolphins, according to a report by the Miami Herald .
Reporter Armando Salguero writes , the Fins didn't volunteer information about a previous off-season arrest or Bess being committed by family members "but did tell the Browns to 'do their homework.'"
Whether the Dolphins were upfront with the information, ESPN's Bruce Hooley says the burden should be on Mike Lombardi and team owner Jimmy Haslam should fire the Browns GM after making the trade for Bess just a month after the arrest in Miami.
Regardless, the bad trade will likely haunt the Dolphins, Salguero says, and certainly means no one in the Browns front office will ever trust Miami's former GM Jeff Ireland again.
A league source told Cleveland.com the Browns had serious concerns about Bess before placing him on the non-football/reserve list.
