CLEVELAND - Phil Dawson was one of Cleveland’s most beloved Browns. Now, as a 49er, he’s still showing Cleveland love.
The kicker tweeted Monday: “Hey CLE, just want to thank y'all for your continued love. Much respect & appreciation for y'all.”
After playing for the Browns since 1999, Dawson left for San Francisco in free agency this past offseason.
Sunday, he kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired to earn his first playoff win and send the 49ers to the next round.
Clevelanders continue to show their support for the ex-Brown. More than 1,700 people liked a Facebook post on the WEWS page Sunday night showing Dawson celebrating his winning moment.
