CLEVELAND - Browns fans will find out today if one of Cleveland's stars will grace the cover of the popular Madden video game for the first time.
Running back Peyton Hillis is in the final round of the cover contest against Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, and the winner of the fan's vote will be announced today at 4 p.m.
Hillis and Vick will both be on ESPN's Sportsnation for the announcement. The Madden 12 cover contest, which has been running for the past two months, was set up in bracket similar to the NCAA tournament, with players from all 32 teams in the running. Ironically, both Vick and Hillis were on Sportsnation when ESPN and EA Sports announced the cover contest.
As a 10 seed, Hillis has been the surprise of the bracket, beating Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Baltimore running back Ray Rice, Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles and Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan.
Hillis earned 61 percent of the votes in his fourth round matchup against Green Bay Packers quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers.
This is the first year that EA Sports has allowed fans to pick the cover star, and fans could vote on ESPN's website. Voting for the contest has closed.
Hillis' path to the finals has been supported through online efforts by Browns fans, as there is a Facebook page urging fans to vote for the team's running back. The page has over 5,500 "likes."
