Fans can get free tickets to Cleveland Browns scrimmage at University of Akron on August 2

Team's first visit to Akron since September 1973

BEREA, Ohio - Going into what could be one of the team’s most exciting years in recent memory, the Cleveland Browns are offering fans a free preview of what the season could hold.

They’re hosting an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday, August 2 at the University of Akron’s InfoCision Stadium. The event starts at 11:30 a.m. but gates open at 10:30 a.m.

It’ll be the first time since 1973 the Browns have played in Akron and the only time the team has hosted its Family Day outside of Cleveland.

According to a news release, there will be multiple family-friendly pre-game events from 9:30-11:30 a.m., including a Browns alumni autograph area, a PLAY 60 area, a zip line, inflatables, face-painting stations and a food court.

The team will encourage fans to get involved in their communities by offering volunteer opportunities through its First and Ten program. Family Day attendees can also donate new school supplies or money to the Browns’ Back to School Campaign, which helps young people in the area.

As an added bonus, some lucky fans may find themselves wearing their favorite player’s jersey, right off his back.

Cleveland Browns PNC Bank Debit Card holders can get into Family Day at 10 a.m. by showing their cards and tickets at Gate 1 for up to five ticketed guests.

The registration starts at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 17 on ClevelandBrowns.com. Fans can also call 440-891-5050 to speak with someone in the Browns ticket office. Fans can request up to six seats.
