Cleveland Browns quarterback Robert Griffin III said Wednesday he was "the happiest guy in the building" after being told he could return to practice.

“It was awesome to get back out there with the team and to move around a little bit," he told the media Wednesday. "It is always fun. You always appreciate things when it is taken away from you. I enjoyed practice and liked being out there with my teammates before I was hurt. Now, I get the chance to be back out there and I just continue to appreciate it more and more.”

The Browns announced the quarterback's return Wednesday morning.

Griffin suffered a fractured coracoid bone in his left shoulder during the season opener in Philadelphia.

He was placed on injured reserve on Sept. 12.

The Browns have 21 days to activate Griffin or he must remain on the injured reserve list for the remainder of the season.

Griffin signed with the Browns as a free agent in March.
