Cairns Gameday: Browns get first win

CLEVELAND,OH - It took eleven games but Browns fans finally got to celebrate the teams first win on Sunday, a 34-24 victory over the Bengals ending an 11 game losing streak dating back to last year.

Browns Inactives: Mohamed Massaquoi, Dimitri Patterson, Tashaun Gipson, Ryan Miller, Ahtyba Rubin, Travis Benjamin and Scott Fujita.

Browns defense forces a three and out in the first series.

Browns off to a good start in their first series, completing three first downs on the drive, including a key 28 yard pass to Josh Cooper on third and seven for his first catch as a pro in his first regular season game. The drive would end when Brandon Weedens pass is tipped by Geno Atkins and intercepted by Michael Johnson and returned to the Bengals 37 yard line.

Bengals turn the interception into the first points of the game three plays later when Andy Dalton connects with Jermaine Gresham on a 55 yard touchdown down the seam. The Browns shoddy tackling reared its ugly head here again.

Trent Richardson appeared to be banged up in the first series and was replaced for a few plays at the end of the first quarter by Montario Hardesty

Browns open the second quarter with a beautifully thrown ball by Brandon Weeden to Josh Gordon, a 71 yard touchdown toss. Gordon's third touchdown catch in the last two weeks.

Browns now have a little momentum here in the second quarter after a stop. Key point here in game to try and add some points and get the crowd behind you here at home. Alex Mack's unsportsmanlike penalty killed any chance of the Browns getting anything going. Browns punt ball away.

Brandon Tate with another big return and add a Browns ineligible player down field during the punt and the Browns are basically handing points over here today.

Two minute warning here at Browns Stadium and the Bengals are knocking on the door with a second and goal at the Browns four yard line.

Browns got a break at the end of the half as Bengals QB Andy Dalton appeared to spike ball to stop the clock but the ruling on the field was he did not get it down in time. Replays however showed he did, but the call on the field stood.

Browns begin third quarter with a three and out. Bengals with a chance to really put this one away early.

Browns fifth straight series of three plays and out. Browns got a big lift when Josh Cribbs returned a punt 60 yards  to the Bengals thirty. Three plays later Phil Dawson was automatic from 41 yards away.

Third quarter ends with the Browns at the Bengals one yard line and a second and goal. The Browns have all the momentum right now. Greg Little a big key on this drive along with some creative play calling.

With Trent Richardson on the sideline with a flank injury, Montario Hardesty jumped in from a yard out for the Browns first lead.

Josh Cribbs with another huge return to give the Browns great field position and Montario Hardesty running like a man possessed in place of Trent Richardson who has not returned from a flank injury.

Biggest play of the drive a 23 yard completion from Brandon Weeden to Jordan Cameron on third and one to the Bengals two yard line.Weeden finished off the drive with a two yard touchdown toss to Ben Watson.

The Browns played one of their best all around games of the year down the stretch, coming up with big plays in the 4th quarter to beat the Bengals.

Browns will travel to Indianapolis this week to face the Colts in their final game before the bye week.
