BEREA - The big news at Browns training camp on day six was who didn't practice. Wide Receiver Josh Gordon was sidelined with Patella Tendinitis and was joined on the sidelines by Tashaun Gipson who has a sprained shoulder.
Coach Rob Chudzinski said he expected Gordon to miss "two or three days", but that no MRI was necessary and rest would be just fine. Expectations are very high on the second year player, Browns team President Michael Lomabardi told the media today, " I expect Josh Gordon to have a very big year and I am looking forward to watching him grow into his role".
The two and a half hour practice in front of a smaller crowd today went off without any injuries or skirmishes, which have become the norm thru the first six days.
Play of the day: Brandon Weeden connected on a long touchdown pass with Travis Benjamin that brought the fans to their feet.
American Idol: Browns running back Trent Richardson spent time after practice today with one of his football idols, running back Marshall Faulk who was at camp working for the NFL Network. Best piece of advice his idol would give him, "Work hard on the field and stay out of trouble off it, because it's easy to get into trouble and even harder to get out of it".
Excuse me while I get my tooth: Browns tight end Jordan Cameron asked me if I would wait to conduct our one on one interview so he could run into his locker and get his tooth. Apparently the California kid with the model looks lost his tooth while playing football and has a replacement for his gap.
